In the tutorial textboxes update, a mysterious character dubbed “the researcher” was introduced as the notes’ author. While this improved readability and immersion, I still felt a bit unsatisfied with how her character came out of nowhere.

So now she is in the game.

This update completely overhauls the “tips” area in the rain levels. Rather than just getting a random tip, you get to chat with the researcher. The dialogue options start as descriptions for the game’s general mechanics in the first level, but the options in latter levels will be tied to the items and remixes active and the endings reached. This new area is completely optional and not required to reach any ending or achievement.

This update also changes the type of levels chosen a bit. Basically, there’s a restriction to avoid getting consecutive rain levels and not being able to pay the pearl tax.
